Britain Did It!
Source A)During World War 1 the allies controlled much of the colonies then the central powers. Britain could have stopped the war by giving the central powers some colonies thus not starting the war. The main reasons the war took place was because the central powers wanted more land, arms and power. During much of the 19-20th centuries countries wanted to build larger and much powerful empires. Britain and France being the most successful.
Source B) Britain spent millions of dollars on it defences signalling a treat to other nations, which could have influenced Germany and the other central powers to start building their defences. Britain being an island, started building their naval force. This started an arms race to see which country was stronger. Britain was making treaties to stop Germany form expanding their naval unites.

Source D) Britain could have prevented the war by saying which side they would be on for the war. This could have threatened the central powers form declaring war. Germany knew that both their allies (the Ottoman Empire and Austrian-Hungarian Empire) were falling apart. They also knew that starting war no was better then latter. Germany did not know Britain was going to be involved in the great war.
Using the following information convide it can be concluded that Britain caused WW1

1[1] Britain could have stopped the war, by clarifying which side it is going to take. 1[1] Britain could have declared that it is going to support France, so Germany would hold back, or it could have warned France that it is going to remain neutral, so Russia wouldn't step up.
2[2] Britain was competing for military and naval power. 2[2] Britain decided to help Belgium defend itself, which was not really necessary to do at the moment. 2[2] Arms manufacturers became some of the largest companies in Europe. 2[2] European countries tried to expand their empires. 2[2] The British Empire controlled more than 25% of the world's territory and people. Britain used its great navy with the Russian army to get even stronger and get more land, so Britain put itself over everyone. Britain's greediness for power and land has made it blind to try to prevent the great war by clarifying the side it was going to take, whether France or Germany.
